OpenAI moves into Google Cloud — making AI competition more open

Google Cloud is beginning to offer OpenAI models alongside Gemini and other options. Everyday users will not notice an immediate change, but businesses may find it easier to avoid being locked into one AI provider.

OpenAI and Google announced on October 21 that OpenAI models will be offered through Google Cloud’s Model Garden, which already includes Google’s own models and a large catalogue from other developers.
