Google announced on October 20 that the Gemini app is getting a new central area for small-business owners. It is intended to bring work involving branding, finances, customer insights and marketing into fewer separate workflows.

What is confirmed in Google’s own launch announcement is that Gemini will connect with services including Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace. The company also lists third-party apps such as Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero.

Another feature lets a business provide its visual identity through a website, fonts, colour palette or brand guide. Gemini can then try to keep that style consistent in new visual and marketing material. Google also says the tool can turn spreadsheets, receipts and purchase records into charts and interactive financial views.

According to Google, these features are beginning to roll out globally to Gemini app users over the coming days. They may therefore not appear in every account immediately.

This is Google’s product description, not an independent measurement of how much time or money small businesses will actually save. Connecting more services also makes it more important to inspect exactly which information the AI is allowed to read.

Our editorial recommendation is to start small: try an old campaign, a copy of a spreadsheet without personal data, or public brand material. Check the output against the original and connect only the apps that are genuinely needed.

Our takeaway: the most interesting development is not another chat box, but AI tools beginning to cover a whole workflow. That could be valuable for a small organisation — provided convenience is matched by careful checks of figures, content and permissions.
