In its updates for the week of 7–11 September, OpenAI describes Quick Chat through the floating Pets controls. On Mac and Windows, you can type a question or start a voice conversation there while continuing to work in another application.

You can choose a small companion in the settings, or Mini if you want the controls without an animal. Availability depends on rollout and settings, and the app needs to be up to date.

The same week’s news includes Appshots on Windows, which can share a screenshot and available text from the foreground app window with ChatGPT. This makes it easier to show what your question is about.

These are small changes that can make asking feel easier. If you are stuck on a phrase or want to capture an idea, a short conversation may be enough to move forward. Think of a little question you tend to put off – perhaps that is the one to start with.
