On 21 September, OpenAI introduced new courses for developers, leaders, educators and university students. They complement Apply AI at Work, a learning path covering basic skills and practical ways of working.

What stands out is the emphasis on practising with real tasks: giving instructions, providing relevant material and reviewing the result. You do not need to start by understanding the technology behind the model to develop better ways of using it.

For curious learners, a clearer route through all the material can be welcome. Choose an area close to something you already do instead of trying to learn everything at once. The courses also include assessments where participants can demonstrate what they have learned.

A first step of your own could be to choose a recurring task and try two different instructions in ChatGPT. Which produced something you could actually use? That comparison is a small but practical lesson in itself.
