Apple released Siri AI with its autumn software updates on 14 September. The assistant can hold longer conversations, understand what is on the screen and use personal information from emails, photos and messages. It is still in beta and only works on newer devices.

For someone living in Sweden, the boundary is clear. Apple's support page says Siri AI does not work on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch in the EU. It is available on Macs running macOS 27 and on Vision Pro if both the device language and Siri are set to English. Swedish is supported by several other Apple Intelligence features, but not by Siri AI.

Apple points to the EU's Digital Markets Act as the reason for the delay. The European Commission disagrees that the law blocks the launch. Whichever explanation you find more convincing, there is no public timetable for iPhone in the EU.

The practical advice is simple: do not hunt for hidden settings. If the phone is in the EU, the feature is unavailable. Apple's support page is a better guide than instructions promising a workaround.
