On 9 September, OpenAI featured Bradford and Bryan Manning, the founders of Two Blind Brothers. They describe how ChatGPT helps with tasks that might otherwise take a lot of time or require someone else’s help.

Examples include understanding a menu, working with a spreadsheet or finding a particular socket on the back of a monitor. In their business, they also use it for ideas, presentations and analysing fundraising data.

This is a customer story from OpenAI, not an independent evaluation. Still, the examples are worth noticing: AI can be useful simply by making existing information easier to take in.

The story also raises a good question for anyone creating something. Could the instructions be clearer? Could an image have a description? Could a complicated text be explained more simply? Small improvements in accessibility can open a door for more people, whichever tool we use.
