On 8 September, OpenAI introduced the ChatGPT Images 2.5 update. The company describes sharper details, more precise edits and faster image creation. But for someone getting started, the new starting points are just as interesting.
In the mobile app, you can choose Sketch using @ in the message field, draw a simple sketch and describe what you want to turn it into. You do not need to be good at drawing to show roughly where a subject should sit or how the picture should be arranged.
There are also image templates to start from, for example when trying out a poster idea. These templates are not yet available in Work mode.
Try something small: draw a book, a cup and a circle for a window. Then ask for a calm illustration in black, grey and white. When the image arrives, point out what you would like to change. Your sketch sets the direction, and the conversation helps you develop the look.
